Ziyad Jassam
painter and installation artist , born in Iraq 1974
He completed his studies at the Institute of Fine Arts in Baghdad and then the Academy of Fine Arts - University of Baghdad in 2000. He was apprenticed to great artists from the post-pioneer generation. He held several personal exhibitions inside and outside Iraq, holding several Received local and international awards.

biography
Ziyad Jassam was born in Iraq 1974 . He completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts -University of Baghdad in 2000. Before that, He has membership in the Iraqi Artists Syndicate, the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, the Iraqi Plastic Artists Association, the Union of Iraqi Writers , Association of Iraqi Artists in Britain , And the Emirates Fine Arts Society ..
He held several personal exhibitions, including the exhibition (Four in Dialogue) at Hawar gallery in Baghdad 2012 , (Moment of Love) at Le Scribe l'Harmattan Gallery in Paris 2015.
(Recycling) at Burj Babel “Tower of Babel” gallery in Baghdad 2016, (Dream Story) at his personal studio & gallery in Baghdad 2021 , and (The River Bottom) at the French Institute in Baghdad 2023.
He has participated in most of exhibitions held by the Iraqi Fine Artists Association, the Ministry of Culture, and public halls in Iraq since 1995. He also has many international participations, including (Iraqi colors (at Zaman gallery in Beirut 2012, (Todra Strait) in Morocco 2012, (the Artist’s Kasbah Forum) International Forum in the Kingdom of Morocco 2013, (Baghdad Fine Arts Forum) in Baghdad 2013, (the International Creativity Forum) in Lebanon 2013, (la Fête de l'Humanité (International Festival in Paris 2022. He also participated in Baghdad International Book Fair in 2021 with an installation of more than 2 meters in high, entitled (Life is a Book), which had a wide international impact and was launched. It has the exhibition icon on it, and he has other contributions in sculpture and ceramics.
He also designed many literary and artistic magazines and books, worked as painter in (Alif Baa) magazine from 1998 until 2003, and wrote many articles on visual criticism that were published in newspapers and websites. He received several awards of appreciation, including: an award for his participation in the exhibition ( Humanity Crosses the Millennium Threshold) which was held by the Red Crescent Society in Baghdad in 2000, and an appreciation award for )Jamil Hamoudi competition( at Enana Gallery in Baghdad 1999, and an appreciation award for (Hassan Al Saeed competition) at Athar Hall in Baghdad 2000, and he received prizes and certificates of appreciation for his participation in international forums. Morocco, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Greece. A book was published in French by Josephine Lawrence, entitled (Moment of Love) in 2015. One of his installation works, titled “Sofa,” was chosen to be placed in the Museum of Contemporary Art at the Iraqi Ministry of Culture. He has collections in Several Arab and foreign countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Bahrain, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Bahrain, Morocco, America, Canada, France, Denmark, Australia.
